Ecole d’été “Archéologie Digitale” Graduate Program ARCHEO / GPR “Human Past” / FSAB

L’école d’été « Archéologie Digitale » est co-organisée par des chercheurs des laboratoires PACEA et Archéosciences Bordeaux du pôle bordelais d’archéologie. Elle vise à donner aux participants une vision globale des thématiques de recherche et des techniques d’analyse employées à Bordeaux et une opportunité pour acquérir des compétences concrètes dans le traitement de données.
Grâce à une approche multi-échelle, les participants auront à loisir de découvrir les techniques d’imagerie à l’échelle du site et de l’objet archéologique (ex. : photogrammétrie), la quantification de la forme et de la configuration des objets (morphométrie géométrique) de même que la caractérisation et la quantification de la rugosité des surfaces (ex. : stries, usure) d’objets archéologiques ou anatomiques.
L’enseignement et l’encadrement sont assurés par des membres du GPR « Human Past » et de la «Graduate School 3D Imaging and Geometric Morphometrics» organisée en 2022 par le Graduate Programme « ARCHEO » (Christine Couture et Frédéric Santos).
Les diaporamas seront en anglais, ainsi que les présentations orales, sauf mention “en français” dans le programme.
Summer School “Digital Archaeology” Graduate Program ARCHEO / GPR “Human Past” / FSAB – Pessac, 3-7 July 2023, bonus day 10 July 2023
The “Digital Archaeology” Summer School is co-organized by researchers from the PACEA and Archéosciences Bordeaux laboratories of the Bordeaux Archaeology cluster. It aims to provide participants with an overview of the research themes and investigation techniques used in Bordeaux, and to help them acquiring concrete skills in data processing.
Participants will have the opportunity to discover imaging techniques at various scales ranging from the site to the archaeological object (e.g., photogrammetry), learn how to quantify the form and shape of objects (geometric morphometrics) or to characterize and quantify surface texture (e.g., striations, wear) on archaeological or anatomical objects.
Lectures and hands-on sessions are provided by members of the GPR “Human Past” and the 2022 “Graduate School 3D Imaging and Geometric Morphometrics” organized by the Graduate Program “ARCHEO” (Christine Couture and Frederic Santos).
The slides will be in English, as well as the oral presentations, unless specified “in French” in the program.
