Full-Time Instructor in Archaeology and/or Biological Anthropology

Loyola University Chicago - Chicago, IL Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Anthropology, invites applications for a fulltime, one-year, non-renewable position as an instructor in archaeology and/or biological anthropology, beginning August 2016. We seek candidates with teaching experience in environmental science and archaeology and/or biological anthropology. The department strongly encourages a holistic approach to anthropology and the engagement of undergraduates within and outside of the classroom. The Anthropology Department serves more than 150 majors and is a substantial contributor to the University Core Curriculum and Interdisciplinary Programs. Candidates will be required to teach four courses per semester, primarily in LUC’s Core Curriculum, with two courses each semester being the University Core Foundational Science course : The Scientific Basis of Environmental Issues. Other courses might include : Human Origins, The Human Ecological Footprint, and courses focusing on archaeological or biological issues.

Minimum Education or Experience

Preference will be given to individuals with a Doctoral Degree in Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, or a related discipline. Candidates for the position should have a record of distinguished teaching and student mentorship, and must be clearly dedicated to student development.
