Objectives of the Bio-Geosciences Master’s (Biolological Anthropology and Prehistory)

The goal of this Master’s programme is to provide a research formation in both Biological Anthropology (human osteology, palaeoanthropology, palaeobiology, palaeogenetics, funerary archeo-anthropology) and Prehistory (geoarchaeology, zooarchaeology, technology, prehistoric art and cultures, and palaeontology). It can serve as preparation for doctoral research and forms researchers in both disciplines.

This formation (Master 2) also provides the necessary skills for working with the Inrap (Institut national de recherches archéologiques préventives), the satellite services of the Ministry of Culture and Communication (Regional Archaeology Service, National Centre of Prehistory), private rescue archaeology companies, and in museums. Moreover, certain professionals (instructors, medical professionals or individuals working for the Ministry of Culture and Communication) will find that this Master’s provides additional training for participating in multidisciplinary research programmes.
