Bioarchaeology postdocs and PhD studentships in Cambridge

AFTER THE PLAGUE : HEALTH AND HISTORY IN MEDIEVAL CAMBRIDGE

This four-year, Wellcome Trust funded project will study the people of medieval Cambridge buried at the Hospital of St. John the Evangelist, Cambridge. The focus is particularly to understand health, lifestyle and activity in medieval England and the long-term biosocial effects of the Black Death epidemic.

The following funded posts will be available to start in October 2016 : 1) Post doctoral research associate in general osteoarchaeology and data analysis, 4 years, supervisor John Robb (Closing date 1 June 2016, job reference number JC08713, McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research). 2) Post doctoral research fellowship in palaeopathology, 4 years, supervisor Piers Mitchell (Closing date 1 June 2016, job reference number JC08710, McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research) 3) Post doctoral research fellowship in ancient DNA, 4 years, supervisor Toomas Kivisild (Closing date 1 June 2016, job reference number JC08712, McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research) 4) PhD studentship (stipend, fees, and research expenses) in stable isotopes, 3 years, supervisors Susanne Hackenbeck and Tamsin O’Connell (Closing date 10 June 2016, job reference number JB08717, Department of Archaeology and Anthropology) 5) PhD studentship (stipend, fees, and research expenses) in skeletal geometric morphometrics, 3 years, supervisor Jay Stock (Closing date 10 June 2016, job reference number JB08717, Department of Archaeology and Anthropology)
